FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often do Duck tours depart? Do we have to make reservations or buy our tickets ahead of time?
You may purchase your tickets right before you board the tour. Lines move very quickly with Duck tours departing every two to five minutes.

How much does it cost to get into the Dells?
Wisconsin Dells is not an amusement park like Disney World. It is a destination with several individually owned and operated amusement attractions, such as the Original Wisconsin Ducks.

What are the Upper Dells and Lower Dells?
Two portions of the Wisconsin River separated by a hydroelectric dam that does not have a lock system. Original Wisconsin Ducks operate on the Lower Dells.

How many people fit on a Duck?
An Original Wisconsin Duck carries up to 21 passengers.

Will I get wet on the Duck tour?
You may feel a slight spray when the Duck splashes into the Wisconsin River or Lake Delton. After all, that’s part of the excitement of “splashdown.” Our drivers take a consensus of how fast the group wants to splash in, in some instances you may get a bit wet, but only on the nice hot days, not in inclement weather.

Can we fish or swim off the Duck?
Our tours are sightseeing excursions. Leave the fishing pole at home. We believe seeing you in your bathing suit is not the sight that your fellow vacations have paid to see. Save it for the waterparks!  So the answer simply is, NO!

Can our pet take a Duck tour with us?
As long as your pet is not too large and is on a leash, you may bring it on board.

Can we bring a cooler along or any food or drinks?
We have a concession stand offering refreshments and food, any of which can be brought on board. You may also bring your own small snacks or sack lunch. However, large coolers are not allowed. There is an on-site picnic area.

What is the difference between Original Wisconsin Ducks and the other duck tour in town?
Original Wisconsin Ducks have exclusive wilderness trails that take passengers in and around the beautiful terrain of the area. The other duck tour operates mainly on the roadways.

How can we get coupons or discounts?
If you have taken one of our tours in the past and purchased a souvenir guidebook, there are coupons in the back. You may also purchase combination tickets for Duck and boat tours at a discounted rate. Any portion of the combo ticket can be saved and used at a later date or time. The tickets never expire. Visitors will also find discounts when they purchase Ducks tickets through the Passport to Savings program, available online (www.passporttosavings.com) or at several in-area ticket booths. In addition, several Wisconsin local park and recreation departments sell Ducks and other attraction tickets at a discount.

Is there a charge for parking and do you have motorhome parking?
We have ample free parking between three large lots, which will accommodate cars, campers, RV’s and semi trucks.

Are you handicap-accessible?
Yes. On the Duck tour, the person must be able to leave the wheelchair and sit on their own. The passenger is lifted down two small steps to the back seat of the duck. We assist them back into the chair after the tour.

Are Ducks equipped with life preservers?
Yes, both adult and child life preservers are available on board the Ducks at all times. Drivers will assist those who wish to wear one.

Can we bring a stroller or car seat?

Strollers are not allowed on the Duck tour. We will hold them at the dispatch stand. Small carriers or car seats may be brought on board for infants. Most small children just sit on an adult’s lap.

Can we bring a video camera?
Absolutely! You will see some of the best scenery in Wisconsin on a duck tour. So, don’t forget your camera bag.
