After an exciting
plunge, the Duck now cruises the Wisconsin
River. Here you will see the spectacular
sandstone cliffs that have been marveling
travelers to Wisconsin Dells for more than
150 years. Formed quickly by rushing floodwaters
from a glacial lake thousands of years ago,
this unique region was named the dalles
by French Canadian fur traders, meaning
slab or tile-like rock.
As you cruise along, you will amaze at the
unique rock formations. You will hear the
Native American legends and sometimes tall
tales of how they were named, all the while
pondering I wonder if the wheels on
this Duck keep turning underwater?
